THE STORY SO FAR

Deviation was created during summer 2009 in Katowice, Poland. Founders of the band were: guitarist “Zielak” (ex – Infatuation of Death, ex – Kadath the Lost City), drummer “Harry” (ex – Luminaria, ex – Kadath the Lost City), vocalist “WojtasS” (ex – Whizper, ex – Kadath the Lost City, Vates), guitarist Jakub Ryt (Banisher – live, ex – Sphere) and bassist “Meat” (ex – Infatuation of Death). During the spring 2010, Deviation was recording their debut demo, titled ”Psycho” at Deviation home studio in Katowice. Debut demo consists of 5 songs, plus intro from the movie „BRAINDEAD”. In 2011 the band recorded their new song titled ”Far from the Prayer”, specially for the second edition of ”Silesian Butchers Compilation”, which was supported by Polish Let Them Come Productions. In the same year a vocalist WojtasS left the band and that is why Deviation was looking for a worthy follower. Deviation started their episodic cooperation together with the vocalist ”Tasman” (Sociopathy, ex – Beerhead, ex – Snake Eyes, Devon), but the adventure with him started and ended during the very first gig at music club ”Kultowa” in Katowice. During that gig, Deviation met their future front-woman ”Ev” [ex – Ulcer Uterus, ex – Collider, ex – Psilocybe, ex – Apophasis, ex – Terrordome]. In this line-up, the band concentrated on playing gigs. They played for example as a support before Decapitated, Hate, Masachist, Stillborn, Pandemonium, Furia, Bloodthirst, Embrional and many more… 2013 was a year, when the band started to record their first full length album entitled ”New Generation of Torture”. The CD consists of 8 death metal songs in style of Cannibal Corpse, Aborted, etc, and it last almost 29 minutes. Drums were recorded in June 2013 at Blus Studio in Katowice and guitars and bass were recorded in July 2013 at Haunted House Studio in Gliwice. Time planned for the recording of the album was longer than they expected, because the front-woman ”Ev” left the band, and so they had to find next good vocalist, who would learn already composed songs and write all the lyrics to them. After almost one year of looking for the vocalist, the band tried one more time to enter the Blus Studio in Katowice in order to finish recording of the vocal’s lines. Finally, that attempt was successful. The person, who permanently took the position of ex front-woman in the band is Michał ”Ojciec” Kupiec (Ojciec Dyktator, Bottom) Mix & Mastering of the cd were done by Krzysztof ”Chris” Michalak (Haunted House Studio). Cover artwork and the whole layout were prepared by Perversor, graphic designer known from creating covers for such bands as Azarath (PL), Witchmaster (PL), the labels – Agonia Records, Helltrasher Production, Odium Records, Pulverised Records, and magazine OldSchool Metal Maniac. Band photos were done by photographer Michał Pałucki. The song ”No More Insanity” contained guest guitar solo, recorded by Andrzej Podsiadło (Infatuation of Death). At the turn of 2014/15 the band cooperates with the label Mad Lion Records. The result of signing the contract, in March 2015 is the release of their debut album „New Generation of Torture” under the banner of the publisher. The album collected some very good reviews, both at home country and abroad. Among the events in the same year there can be noted concert locking the lineup of two days DARK FEST festival in the city of Byczyna in chivalry castle, among the heaviest sounds of death and black metal in Poland (M.inn. Vader, Decapitated, Hate, Pandemonium). Unfortunately, at the end of the year and the beginning of 2016, the band parted sequentially with guitarist and vocalist Jakub Ryt and Michał Kupiec (both involved in the new project). At the beginning of 2016 the band started to search the missing links in the machine, meanwhile appearing on Grabofest (Czech Republic) in an experimental squad (guest star Marek „Mody” Szefer – Bottlekopf). At the end of the summer the squad it crystallized and the missing possitions are occupied by guitarist Alex Radovic (ex – Gutfed / Turkey) and vocalist Bartosz Krempowicz.
